Hey everyone out there, I have been wanting to hear how other players play the game. What sort of tips do you have for other players. |

I'm still very much in the formative stage as far as an en masse troop strategy goes. I think it's important to try to establish a good defensive posture early (lots of triangles , grab some high ground if available) and then let the cards dictate where to start an offensive, with the defensive units able to hopefully generate some losses against the opponent without taking orders.I tried out a "battle wedge" last night in a match on Vassal, and it didn't go well, to say the least Attacking bold calvary with foot soldiers is not a good place to hang your fortunes is what I found out. Bonus strikes (rolled both for and against) killed me. So it may be a strategy I can work with, just choose my battles more wisely. Anyway, instead of attacking with a triangle base first like smart person would do, I did so point first, with full strength troops, thinking that it would get me some "battle back"'s as the units could ignore one flag and then take damage on the others, but still battle back. This may be a fine defensive strategy, but I don't know, because I was overly aggressive with it and attacked first and lost too many units on my opponents battle back. Downhill from there. --Last edited by toddrew on 2007-01-28 09:41:05 -- |
